Torsten Geers is an experienced corporate development and M&A professional with extensive industry experience in education, enterprise software, healthcare IT and information services. Most recently he served as Senior Vice President Corporate Development and M&A at Cengage Learning.

Previously, Geers served as senior executive leading corporate development and M&A teams for SAP AG and Thomson Reuters. He has sourced, closed and integrated many transactions globally spanning from acquisitions, strategic investments, partnerships and divestitures.

At SAP, in addition to his work in corporate development, Torsten served as the VP Open Source having responsibility for SAP’s global open source strategy, including managing an international product team in the US and China.  He also had the unique and distinct opportunity to serve in the Office of the CEO being a direct report to SAP’s corporate management board and working behind closed doors on highly strategic matters.

At Thomson Reuters, Torsten was the head of the corporate development team of the Healthcare & Science division.

He has been involved with start-ups and emerging companies as an investor, co-founder and advisor.  Geers is a dual-licensed attorney (Germany and U.S.) and began his career as an associate in the Business and Finance section of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP.
