Seven Years of “Boston in Austin”
In 2013, Good Harbor Partners (GHP) came up with the idea to connect the Boston edtech community and Bostonians across the country and around the world at SXSW EDU. Since then, in partnership with LearnLaunch, we have hosted one of the great traditions at SXSW EDU. This year we are pleased to have Cooley LLP as a co-sponsor for the 7th Annual “Boston in Austin” 6-9pm CT on Monday March 4th.
GHP has relationships with many of Austin’s leading edtech companies and has taken an active role in supporting the development and expansion of the edtech ecosystem. It’s no coincidence that we have a set of clients and an extended team member in Austin.
College Consortium CEO Joshua Pierce has been leading the way for years on making college more accessible and affordable. He has a set of successes under his belt and founded College Consortium offering a B2B marketplace for college courses..
LivingTree CEO Gary Hensley spent years as a teacher and administrator then shifted to an edtech CEO. Living Tree brings parents and teachers together in close communication to support student success and also has a fundraising platform allowing districts, corporations, foundations and parents to come together and financially support their local districts.
Signup.com CEO Karen Bantuveris started her business to quickly mobilize and coordinate volunteers after having been active in the school as a PTO member and in the co-curricular activities of her children as a Girl Scout leader. She recognized how inefficient recruitment activities hinder participation in everything from school events to parent teacher conferences.
Dr. James Caras is an educational entrepreneur with deep leadership experience in the digital learning marketplace and two successful exits. He applies his expertise as an educator and learning technology expert to support innovative companies. With GHP, Jamie is focused addressing active learning for large STEM lecture courses with GHP client 101edu.
GHP is a leading M&A, strategy and corporate development firm. GHP guides edtech companies along their journey to take the right strategic and operational steps towards a successful exit.
If you are an up and coming edtech company, investor or strategic come see us at the event or schedule time with us here during or after SXSW EDU.
Special thanks to LearnLaunch for their partnership and to Cooley LLP for co-sponsoring.
